Seminar on Mind Mapping Skills to be presented at Wilson College
Dilip Abayasekara, Ph.D., Accredited Speaker, will present a
workshop/seminar on ‘Mind Mapping’ at 7:00 p.m. on Monday,
April
5 in the Patterson Board Room at Wilson College. The event, sponsored
by the Chambersburg Area Toastmasters, is free and
open to the public.
Mind Mapping is a recognized problem solving technique used to
generate and organize ideas at an incredibly fast pace. This
technique can improve thinking, planning, and problem solving skills.
Effective uses for Mind Mapping include the following:
organizing ideas for speeches, reports and articles; planning training
events; meetings and parties; and studying. The seminar
will be especially valuable to everyone who makes presentations or
runs meetings.
Guests who wish to participate should bring a pack of five to eight
differently colored highlighter pens as well as a blue or black
ink ballpoint pen.
Dr. Abayasekara is second vice-president of Toastmasters
International, and a member of Chambersburg Area Toastmasters.
A professional speaker, trainer and speech coach, he is special
assistant to the president of Central Penn College, Enola, and
president of Speaker Services Unlimited ( www.drdilip.com
). Dr. Abayasekara has taught Mind Mapping skills for ten years.
Chambersburg Area Toastmasters is an active club, helping members to
develop leadership skills, improve speaking and
presentation skills and learn to think and speak quickly and clearly
on their feet.
The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive
and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills,
which in turn, foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Chambersburg Area Toastmasters meets Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00
